Cosmetic EstheticianCourse Description 

The Cosmetic Esthetician deals with the treatment of face and body conditions such as scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins. 
The Esthetics program is designed to train the student in the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits, business skills, and desirable attitudes necessary to obtain licensure and for competency in job entry-level positions in Esthetics or a related career field. 

OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion the determined graduate will be able to: 

Project a positive attitude and a sense of personal integrity and self-confidence.
Project professionalism, visual poise, and proper grooming.
Communicate effectively and interact appropriately with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
Respect the need to deliver worthy service for value received in an employment environment.
Perform the basic manipulative skills in the areas of skincare and makeup.
Perform the basic analytical skills to advise clients on their skin and its health.
Apply academic learning, technical information and related matter to assure sound judgments, decisions, and procedures.

To ensure continued career success, the graduate will continue to learn new and current information related to skills, trends, and methods for career development in Esthetics and related fields. 

Program Overview:
(The below hours include Theory, Lab and Clinic and may change and be adjusted per section as needed by the school within state requirements) 

Orientation and business topics – 25 hours 

Laws and regulations – 10 hours 

General sciences –  80 hours 

Applied sciences –  95 hours 

Skincare –  255 hours 

Makeup –  65 hours 

Body and other treatments –  20 hours 

Hair removal –  50 hours 

The curriculum for Esthetics shall include the following minimum practical performances: 

Consultations, cleansing , and analysis of face and body 35 

Manual facials and treatments 65 

Machine or electrical facials and treatments 50 

Body treatments and back treatments 20 

Makeup 25 

Hair Removal 25 

Sample of reported job titles: Aesthetician, Clinical Esthetician, Esthetician, Facialist, Lead Esthetician, Medical Esthetician, Skin Care Specialist, Skin Care Technician, Skin Care Therapist, Spa Technician 

 

Instructors 

Students of esthetic cosmetology will be supervised and instructed by active Cosmetic Esthetician from all over the country who have all the necessary skills and experience the student needs. 

 

Requirements 

All esthetic cosmetology students must be entitled to the following tools: 

-Hand gloves 

-Hair cap 

Short fingernails 

 

Dress Code 

-All esthetic-cosmetic students must come every day dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt and black skirts(knee level). 

 

Grading System 

The evaluation will be in 2 sections: there will be the practical section which will be considered as 60% of the evaluation and there will be the theoretical section which will be 40% of the evaluation. In each section, trainees are expected to score at least an average of the total score in order to earn a certificate. 

 

Training sessions 

Training can either be taken as full time or part-time. 

Full Time 

The full-time session runs from: 

Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm 

Part-Time 

This session is taken according to the student’s schedule.
